What is The Stylish Life Project?
Since the founding of Stylish Life a little over 12 months ago as a digital magazine, it has blossomed over the past few months into so much more! With the addition of Becc Burgmann and Natalie Bacic as business partners, a team, a team of people behind the scenes and a new rebranding, we’re so excited to bring you The Stylish Life Project.
At Stylish Life, we are all about helping you create your own stylish life. Whether it’s inspiration on how to style your home, easy entertaining ideas for your family and friends, local shopping or getting your garden ready for summer, we’ve covered it in Stylish Life Magazine! We’re here to inspire you and to share our knowledge of styling and design.

online home styling courses
The beginning of 2019 saw the launch of Stylish Life Magazine. We worked with many local businesses on Sydney’s North Shore, featuring them in articles about local shopping, real estate, entertaining and local artists too. Being part of Stylish Life enabled businesses to connect with each other, bonding relationships and offering ongoing referrals to support communities on the North Shore. Stylish Life Magazine is now spreading it’s wings across the Sydney region and beyond, with a growing readership in many regional communities.
The Stylish Life Project has been transformed to become a comprehensive online learning platform, teaching women how to style their homes and gardens beautifully, through online courses, practical advice and a supportive community. The Hampton’s Masterclass was the first course created in 2019 in conjunction with Style My Home, the Hamptons inspired retailer with stores in Sydney, Brisbane and Noosaville. We’ve had women (and some men) from across Australia take the course and it’s been wonderful to see the successful rooms our members have created, based on the learnings from the course.
The second course for The Stylish Life Project is now in production: Stylish Life Lighting! This is a step by step online course helping women choose home lighting to suit their home, style and budget. It’s for those of you who don’t want to hire a designer, but would like a helping hand to walk you through the options (based on your personal style of course!), lighting placement and lighting plans, and with great designer lighting discounts so you can choose, find and buy those fabulous lights right here in Australia! Whether you’re doing a new build, a renovation, or just want a refresh, this is a great course just for you! You can read more about this in the lighting article in the March 2020 issue of Stylish Life Magazine (coming soon!).
We also have several other home styling courses under construction and will let you know about these throughout the year!
The Hamptons Masterclass was a collaboration with Style My Home, the Hamptons interiors and decor retailer, with stores in Sydney NSW, Brisbane and Noosaville QLD.
introducing the team
Lou Hurll, Editor and Founder of The Stylish Life Project
Let us introduce the team at Stylish Life: Lou Hurll, Editor and Founder, Becc Burgmann, Interior Designer and Nat Bacic, Interior Stylist:
With a corporate background in financial services in Sydney and London, Lou brings a commercial and creative flair to the Stylish Life brand.
As editor of Stylish Life Magazine and Founder of Stylish Life, she relishes the creativity of the role which encompasses content production and co-ordination. Her passion is in developing stories that help our readers to live a more stylish life, through the magazine and now through online courses and she loves the variety of opportunities that we’re involved in, working with wonderfully creative and successful businesswomen.
Lou lives on Sydney’s North Shore with her hubby and two kids.
Becc Burgmann, Interior Designer and Partner of The Stylish Life Project
As an Interior Designer on Sydney’s North Shore, Becc divides her time between Stylish Life and her own interior design practice, Becc Burgmann Interior Design and Decorating.
Becc specialises in residential design and decorating, predominantly the Hampton’s and Provincial styles, and in 2019, moved into luxury interiors. Her love of and decision to move into this sector, was sealed after spending time in Paris in 2019 and meeting with a number of designers in this specific area. Becc loves the challenge of taking elements of design and creating her own rules. She especially loves that design is so open and individual and that the only hindrance is ones imagination. She’s the first to admit, she doesn’t make things easy for herself as she’s always pushing boundaries when it comes to creativity.
When she’s not designing or decorating, Becc loves to read, drink coffee, be around the water, and especially travel. She has been lucky to travel all over the world, but equally enjoys taking a time away where there is minimal phone reception and spending a few days with her family in North West country NSW.
Nat Bacic, Interior Stylist and Partner of The Stylish Life Project
Nat decided to start her my own business about 3 years ago after being constantly asked by friends and family to help with their interiors. This, teamed with her children getting that little bit older, encouraged her to finish her Styling Diploma and go out on her own.
Nat says she’s very fortunate to be able to work from home, which is essential for her in enabling her to balance work and home duties, as well as a post school training schedule of her three boys.
There are so many areas one can work in within this field but the reason Nat does residential interiors is because she loves seeing the joy in her clients face when they walk into their completed space for the first time. Nothing can compare to having a beautiful home. Home is where we all go to recharge, to relax and to spend time with our nearest and dearest. To be able to create a haven that a client loves living in, is the most rewarding aspect.
Nat has been involved in numerous residential projects, a few commercial and has featured in several media publications.
